It is recommended that DERMABOND Adhesive is applied in two layers. DERMABOND Adhesive is the only topical skin adhesive containing an initiator substance within its tip and is therefore the only one lending increased strength through layers
DERMABOND Adhesive sets within 45 - 90 seconds following application, reaching a full mechanical strength in 2.5 minutes (equivalent to the strength of healed tissue at seven days). It can be wiped from the skin for up to 10 seconds after application DERMABOND sloughs off on its own within 5 - 10 days the skin re-epithelialises, eliminating the need for suture removal
DERMABOND Adhesive forms its own flexible and sterile water resistant protective coating. This means patients may shower and gently dry the treated area
