The 2% Chlorhexidine Gluconate/70% Isopropyl Alcohol formulation, applied with gentle friction to help the solution penetrate the first five cell layers, where 80% of microorganisms reside. The patented ChloraPrep applicator promotes aseptic technique and reduces the risk of direct hand-to-patient contact, reducing the risk of cross-contamination.

Using ChlorPrep®
- Pinch - Holding the barrel of the applicator, pinch the levers together, being careful not to touch the sponge
- Apply - Starting at the incision site, gently press the applicator against the skin until the solution soaks the sponge, apply using repeated up and down, back and forth strokes for at least 30 seconds, before working outwards to the periphery
- Dry - Leave the area to air dry completely before applying sterile drapes. Do not blot or wipe away and discard the applicator after a single use
